Richard Bowen on Globally Recognised Avatars

It goes without saying that a service offering Globally Recognised Avatars is a great idea.

So why is it the case that the only thing anyone has to say about this phenomina is "What a great idea"?

I suppose it is possible that the answer to this question is that there is very little that can be said about globally recognised avatars. But I can't believe that!
